We welcomed Guisbrough to Billingham on a frosty morning. After discussing our thoughts and game plan. Billingham kicked off and turned the ball over early only for an infringement at the next ruck relieving the pressure for Guisborough. This was short lived after Billingham making some strong tackles turned the ball over again. The ball was worked to Charlie Evans to make the break and score billinghams first points with Joe Syson slotting the extras. Billingham continued to attack and scored a second through Riley Ward. Guisborough came back into the game exerting pressure on the Billingham defence. Several line breaks saw them on the Billingham 22. They got a penalty and chose to take the 3 points. Billingham came straight back scoring an excellent try in the corner from Jackson Bell. Eben Robinson adding the extras with a great conversion from the touch line. Guisborough kept to the task exerting more pressure on the Billingham defence and only some well timed tackles kept them at bay to half time. The second half started with Guisborough kicking off and were hit with two scores in quick succession which seemed to take the wind out of them. Joe Syson scored next with a lovely show and go from scrum half saw him run half a pitch with the despairing dive of the Guisborough defence inches away from a try saving tackle. Guisborough's forwards were being worn down by Billingham's relentless pressure and scrummaging. The rest of the second half Billingham controlled the match scoring several more tries. the game finished 50:3 in Billingham's favour. Thanks to Guisborough for the game never giving up and fighting to the end.
