Match report against Acklam & Stockton

Once again Billingham had two teams which I have called Team Green and Team White! George took charge of the greens and the whites were led by John/Scott with Steve on refereeing duty!!

Team Green kicked off first against Stockton in what can only be described as atrocious conditions. However, the cold and rain had no effect on the boys as they thrashed our near neighbours 10.0!

A year ago, on paper, this fixture would have been a difficult game so the development and improvement since then is phenomenal. The boys played a 10 a-side game but they still managed to find time and space in abundance.

Notable try scorers included a brace from Ollie and four from Oliver!! Apologies for missing the other tries because Team White kicked off on the other pitch!!

Team White played an 8 a-side game with a mixture of experienced lads and some new boys to the club. Hosts Acklam were the opposition and whites came out 6.3 winners. Ben Harding and Jake got two tries apiece with Tyler and Daniel completing the scoreline.

The boys swapped pitches and both Greens and Whites won their respective matches

Greens beat Acklam 7.0 with Harry, Tom and Alexander on the score sheet. Oliver had a busy day as he added another three tries!!

Whites ended the morning with a 10.4 win over Stockton. Ben Harding added five more tries and Jake wasn't far behind with three more. Daniel and Tyler got one each and so did Kasiah.

Although not everybody got tries today, several lads were unlucky not to add to the tally. Overall play was outstanding with big improvements made in our ruck and maul play. Passing was of a high quality with Caleb showing great team spirit by giving the ball to his team mates even though he could have scored himself. Caleb. got man of the match for the Green team and Harley for the whites for his all round performance.
