Billingham under 12s made the short journey to Hartlepool old boys today. An Old Boys squad that was decimated with sickness and so started with 9... Billingham made up the numbers and made it a 12 a side game. Billingham made a strong start and were up several tries in the first third of the game. To make matters worse another old boys player went down with injury. The remaining two thirds were very competitive with Billingham bolstering the old boys team. Many players stepped up and played in unfamiliar positions and showed what they were capable of. As the old boys coach said at the end "your boys that played for us were outstanding today. Joe Browell from Billingham ran the game for us." The forwards man of the match was Adey Barnes who was outstanding and played his best game of the season. The backs man of the match was Jackson Bell who again stepped further infield and played superbly. The last congratulations needs to go to Max Cooper who on his return after several years not playing worked hard, showed some excellent skills and gave his all throughout. Thank you to our hosts old boys who despite the sickness issues worked hard and made it a great game for all concerned.
