Middlesbrough made the short journey to Greenwood Road this morning for a local Derby again Billingham Jets (under 12s).
The game started with Billingham on the front foot and strong running and tackling saw Middlesbrough forced back time after time. Billingham managed to run in a number of tries in the first third of the game and strong defence meant Middlesbrough struggled to get out of their own half.
The second game started in much the same way with strong Billingham running and handling seeing the green and whites run in several more tries. Right at the end of the half a loose pass allowed Middlesbrough to score.
The last 20 minutes saw both teams mixed and produced some tough hard fought rugby both teams attacking with pace and defending hard. The teams played the game in excellent spirits and both teams left the field with smiles on their faces. Some excellent rugby by both teams at times. Big respect to Middlesbrough for keeping on going and never letting their heads go down.
Man of the match from Middlesbrough coach was Joe Syson forward of the match Riley Ward and back of the match Jude Armstrong for his first try in his first season of rugby.
