Guess what's back.... rugby's back... is what many have been singing since the season ended in April.

For many seen as the most successful season to date however after recently speaking to Peter Evans there was an element of disappointment that more games should have been won but advised there is more to come from the young squad. Some new signings and some old faces returning sets up for what will be an exciting season ahead.

This weekend we see Billingham return to action in the first of three pre season games vs GHA Glasow. GHA currently competes in the Scottish Premiership, the top tier of Scottish club rugby which will no doubt test Billingham and its squad depth.

Initially travelling with 2 squads GHA are now travelling with an extended squad due to unavailability's.

Head Coach Pete Evans added 'June 17th seems like an age away but the lads have put in a huge shift so far. We still have a good amount of prep time left before the important stuff kicks in at home to Wirral. That said we have a proud home record to keep and I am sure the group selected will give it their all. We face an extended first team squad from GHA in Glasgow. Recently promoted to the Scottish prem, no doubt this will be a big test for the young squad out on show. We will be tested as we are missing players (as most are this time of the year) upwards of 10 genuine 1st team players are missing but this gives younger players and some new signings a chance to shine. It’s the first of the tough group of games. Games picked to test us defensively and mentally ready for the toughest nat 3 league for some time. Either way it’s time to blow the cobwebs off 2.30 Saturday.
It’s good to be back!
