Attention!!! Introducing Marine Will Scott son of former 1st XV player Sean Scott.
A big guy with a big engine who likes nothing better than running over his opposition with his bullocking runs.
1. How old were you when you started playing rugby?
I was 11 years old when I started playing and it was at yarm rugby club
2. What was your first rugby memory?
my first rugby memory was my first game for billingham at under 13’s against rovers and before I went on my dad said “when you get the ball, just run”. I went on and got the ball and before I even got tackled I went to ground and set up a ruck
3. Who was your role model and why?
Well I’d say I have 2 role models. One of them being Chris Hyndman simply because of the way his work ethic was and how he coached and played the game so well. My second will have to be my dad. I wouldn’t be where I am today if he didn’t get me into rugby as that makes me the man and rugby player through what I have accomplished.
4. Can you remember your first training session with Billingham?
I can’t really remember my first training session at billingham but I’ll always remember going down as a youngen doing pre season with the seniors on a Saturday morning and getting in the best environment a kid that age could be in
5. What do you eat before a big match?
Before a big match I’d normally have a chilled one Friday, then Saturday/Sunday morning I’d have a big breakfast cooked by the mother or myself. Then have a banana after that on the way to the game
6. Describe your perfect weekend.
My perfect weekend would be a chilled Friday night and up on a Saturday to play a game of rugby with a few bevs with the lads and possibly out for dinner with the fam in the Sunday and drive back to work.
7. What’s been your career highlight?
career highlight is a tie between my game against Northampton saints for Newcastle and the national cup semi final against Brentwood at home. With a 20 yard wanger to Tom Briggs to go the length.
8. What one tip would you give a young person looking to succeed
I would say that you give it your all and enjoy yourself and you can get anywhere if you listen to everything you get taught and learn from it because you never know what you can accomplish from it
9.What’s the next goal in your rugby career?
I have no real goal really. It’s just to enjoy my rugby and get to the highest level I can In the mean time.
I'm sure you will reach the next level pal!!
