Little Man that Packs a Punch!!

This evening I have caught up Mr Fashionista himself Chris Dobson. One of our fine young from Billingham Rugby Club who are part of the Armed Forces. A scrum half by trade. Small in stature he maybe but do not underestimate the power, strength and talent that comes from the no.9. Due to his work commitments isn't always available however when he plays you know he is on the pitch.

1. How old were you when you started playing rugby?
Year 7 so around 11
2. What was your first rugby memory?
First real memory was my first time playing with billingham watching Anth Hyndman and James Watson running through/over people thinking “thank god they were on my team”

3. Who was your role model and why?
Standard Jonny Wilkinson as around the time I started playing he was the main man, tackled like a monster!

4. Can you remember your first training session with Billingham?
Yes!! Dave Hyndman and Dave Sidney throwing me around like an empty tracksuit on a Baltic Wednesday night!

5. What do you eat before a big match?
Neanderthals protein pancakes with yoghurt!

6. Describe your perfect weekend.
Chill with the wife (hopefully get a rub down) watching Netflix Friday night, Saturday breakfast, do my hair, hopefully get a big W in the green and white couple of beers then out locally. Sunday out for Sunday dinner with Mrs D and Theo my son then relax.

7. What’s been your career highlight?
Winning the inter services with army rugby league and scoring on my 1st team debut. Also my first season back getting coaches player of the year was a nice end to a really good season with the Lions.

8. What one tip would you give a young person looking to succeed
Just work hard and be yourself, don’t be scared to try things. Sometimes you will look a bit silly but all learning curves.

9.What’s the next goal in your rugby career?
Just get back playing regularly as I’m no spring chicken and going as far as possible in the challenge cup with the Army.

Very proud of you Dobbo and keep up the good work....however work on the style!
