· Your first season for Billingham….. an indifferent ending. Hows it gone for you?

Started really well, was really pleased to be in 1st team squad after a couple of weeks. Results didn’t quite go our way unfortunately! Then I missed the game that changed our fortunes as I was on a school trip! After that I enjoyed a couple of lions games, but as the season was cut short so was my opportunity to try and get back into 1st team! Roll on pre season!

· How have you settled in?

I think pretty well, it was difficult to adjust to the way we train more so than play games for a couple of weeks, but after a month or so I felt comfortable.

· Who have been the biggest influences since you have been here?

Obviously getting onto Peters wavelength is the 1st sort of influence, but from a personal point of view, even though he’s younger than I am, it’s probably Kieran Clarke, he joined at the start of the season and has been through it and has had a brilliant season. We’ve talked a lot and he’s been really supportive, he’s also a top lad from Hartlepool which is nice.

· Is there any noticeable differences from previous clubs to Billingham?

It’s more of a professional approach to rugby, if your not early to training you’re late- that sort of mentality. Numbers are very strong and there’s healthy competition.

· How have you found the standard in this league?

It’s hard to say because I think my games have coincided with a bad run of form (some would say my curse) so we struggled with implementing our game plan, but I’d say the big difference is that if you don’t play well you’ve got to expect to lose!

· How you getting on without rugby?

Bored senseless! Fortunately I’ve been going to work still- for the 20 or so children of key workers which has kept me busy. I’ve replaced training with riding my bike to work!

· What are you doing to keep fit?

As above, but I’ve been doing HIIT sessions, some weights etc I have at home. A lot of running, which I’ve always enjoyed.

· Have you any goals for the upcoming season?

Mainly to be as fit as I can be, playing well, and hoping breaking my curse and winning first team games!
