U14s Overcome a spirited Houghton side

Houghton v Billingham Spartans U14 - by Tom Fawcett (captain).
This week saw a squad of 24 Spartans travel to Houghton for a great game of rugby despite the appalling conditions.
From the off Billingham handled the wet ball well and some great team play saw Fishy get his first try of the season. Billingham continued to dominate through the forwards with some exciting play, turning the ball over and allowing the backs to attack putting continued pressure on the Houghton defence, going in at the break 24-0 up.
The second half saw Billingham make seven changes which completely changed their front row but the kept up a great performance and again dominated the scrum.
Houghton’s never give up attitude continued into the final five mins when they were rewarded with a try. Final score 31-5 with man of the match performances for Caleb Sayers (forwards) and Oliver Hendry (backs) . A massive thanks to Houghton for great hospitality and a great referee. Good luck for the rest of your season.
