Bulldogs Vs Musselburgh

Bulldogs V’s Musselburgh

Bulldogs V’s Musselburgh

This is the “Very” late match report!

Well it was time again to play the Scots and the Bulldogs were pumped and ready to go!

After a good warm up the Bulldogs noticed that they did not bring enough players so some of our players stepped up and joined the other side – Well Done Rueben/Bailey & Harvey great Bulldog spirit shown again!

After a 123 Billingham Chant that could be heard for miles around the Bulldogs were ready to show Musselburgh how to play Rugby…The Supporters were ready and Frazer was mingling with his own Kind…!

The Whistle went and within seconds Zinny broke free and scored the first try… All of a sudden a smile was on all of the Bulldogs faces and they knew this was their game to Win.
5-0 Billingham.
They kicked it straight back to us and Harley “The Rhino” got hold of the ball within seconds again and ran at them like an animal that no one could stop so we thought but we lost possession and they came at us….We soon got possession back and the ball got to Harry and all of a sudden it was 10-0 Billingham with some great passing of the ball from the full team. Again the kicked it straight back to us after the whistle and the ball was passed to Finn and with another great burst through their players he was through to score 15-0 Billingham.

The Lads were still smiling and I am not surprised after some spectacular tackling and passing from them all…..Then came a crunching tackle as the ball came to us yet again by “Rhino” and all you could hear from the supporters was “OUCH/KAPOW/BLAM/POW” sounding like an Old Batman fighting episode(Bit carried away sorry)!

Baily picks up the ball for Musselburgh and runs the full length of the pitch dodging almost all of our bulldogs (He does know he is a Bulldog doesn’t he?) …I say almost as who do you think steps up …yes you guessed it Joel “The Machine” Smith..SMASH and we get the ball back and its passed to Zinny who goes onto score. 20-0 Billingham.
After some tackling and scrumming from the big boys they somehow get the ball and score 20-5 Billingham. At this point I have to mention new Lad Ben..Some startling moves and passing from him which resulted in another Bulldog Try by Harry. 25-5 Billingham.

WOW is this still the first half……! We get the ball again and after a great run Ben scores his first 30-5 Billingham and straight away it happens again with some great passing from Reece & Max it gets out to Zinny who scores again. 35-5 Billingham.

With “The Machine” still crunching and some great pressure from Thomas & Cambo we break through again and Harry scores another 40-5 Billingham.

Whistle finally blows and the first great half was over.

As the 2nd half loomed it was a change around and Max/Reece/Cambo & Cam all joined the Musselburgh team to make up the numbers. Again great bulldog spirit!

All of a sudden from the first kick of the 2nd half they break through again and score 40-10. The bulldogs did not look happy about this and they replied with a great run and pass by Thomas to Harley who scored to make it 45-10 Billingham. This is turning into a bit of a battle at this point as they score again 45-15 Billingham and the only response to this was a lovely passing moment right along the line to reach Zinny who scores again. 50-15 Billingham.

Some great tackling and passing by all the bulldogs at this point and then with one big tackle by Harry the ball reaches Ben who runs like lightning down the line to score 55-15 Billingham. This is a great 2nd half as they break through yet again and score 55-20 Billingham.
With one final push you guessed it ….new player Ben steals the ball and runs again and scores 60-15.

That was it the final whistle goes with the score ending up 60-15 Billingham and I think this is the best result so far this season. Well done to all the Bulldogs. You all played excellent and with great Bulldog Spirit.

Again sorry for the late Report I had lost my “pencil and paper”…Ha Ha.
