It was written in the week that this would not be an easy game. Carlisle came with a plan and managed to nullify Billingham for the majority of the first half before Billingham unleashed a flurry of points in the second.

A cold and wet day meant for difficult handling conditions. It wasnt until the 36th minute when back row Josh Wilson crashed over to get the ball rolling for Billingham.

It was a slow half with Carlisle heading in the changing rooms for warmth at half time with the score 5-0. Billingham remained outside for an old school discussion.

The talk clearly worked as Billingham were quickly out of the blocks following another yellow for Carlisle. Replacement second row Ryan Kirkbride went over for his second of the season. Evans converted.

On 65 minutes Michael Whinn found himself in space bounced off loose tackles to swan dive over the line. Evans again converting. 19-0

Carlisle straight from the kick off went over to score to give them hope. 19-7

However Billingham tightened things up and it was Matt Kirby on 70 mins who went over the whitewash to score his tenth of the season! Evans converted.

The scores continued as the minutes ticked on as wing Martin Hopley scrambled over. Conversion missed.

Not to be outdone replacement Jobe Roxby got his first Billingham in the 6th minute of injury time. Evans converted.

Full time 38-7

Compliments to Carlisle who brought a well structured plan and it some grinding down by the Billingham boys.

10 out of 10!!
