This weekend we welcome Carlisle to Greenwood Road.

Yes we have 9 wins from 9, but lets not carried away is the message from Head Coach Peter Evans. Its nice to be part of and nice to hear but we are taking each week as it comes.

Harrogate was a ferocious test and had an impact on the players bodies but the players and coaching staff will be keen to carry on the momentum.

Carlisle sit ninth in the table. Nothing can be read into at this early stage. Carlisle possess some quality players in player coaches Matt Shields and Max Connon. Yes this is a certain Matt Shields who recently tasted premiership rugby playing for Harlequins before retiring. Max Connon, another familiar name in the North East. Max recently played for DMP but also played for Durham County.

Carlisle’s form has been sporadic, some big wins and some close losses. They are clearly a team capable of scoring points. 2 recent losses would have knocked their confidence but they will no doubt be up for a team sitting top of the table.

Reading up on Carlisle they are keen on gaining promotion or be within a shout of gaining promotion. With the coaching expertise of such players they will have no doubt a game plan. As said above, Carlisle can score points so defence will be key. Seeing what Billingham are capable of in such games as Blaydon and Harrogate defence has been excellent so they will be wanting to shut the door on Carlisle.

Billingham know the calibre they players possess but will be keen to exploit Carlisle on the AGP as they have done other sides in the season. Again Peter has eluded to squad rotation following injuries to Joe Evans. Ben Walton will be assessed throughout the week following a head knock before a squad will be announced.

We are looking to get another big crowd but we can only do this if you can spread the word.

Support YOUR town!!
