As we look to continuously plan for the future we have made 2 exciting changes to the leadership group in the senior section.

*Elliott Husband will step up to the role of ‘Club Captain’ from his current vice captain role.*

Elliott is a driving force behind all that is good about Billingham. He continuous to push that extra 5% out of the lads, he had developed into a leader in the senior section, at training, during games and in the social scene.
Elliott takes great pride in being involved in any Billingham side and is an example to follow for any player. He is passionate about the club and the ‘Club Captain’ is not about being the greatest player or about playing for one team, it’s about leading the whole senior section and creating or in our case enhancing the great atmosphere we are be involved in.

*Luke Wilson will step up as Vice Captain.*
Luke is a Billingham mini and junior product who has progressed year on year and is now in my opinion the best 12 in the league. Last season was a real breakout year for Luke, not only was he in fine form but he has grown into his role of a senior leader, a top communicator to match his skill set.

As with Elliott we forget how young Luke is, their best years are certainly still ahead of them in green and white. Luke is another passionate player who this past season especially, the team have responded to brilliantly.

*Peter Evans will now focus on being first team captain and coach for the 2020/2021 season.*

Peter will continue in his role as a leader on the pitch on a Saturday but as always, we are looking to the future.

If we think about the squad in a years’ time we will possess three or four player coaches, club captain, ex captains, vice-captain and pack leaders.

It is an evolving environment and we must not stand still as we will be left behind!
Peter'I am proud to work with not only the above players but with a fantastic senior section. With 76 players training (socially distanced) on Tuesday the future is very bright.'

This will be the first of a few announcements, keep an eye out for other exciting changes within the senior section, in leaderships roles and potential signings.

Following on from the announcement of a new assistant coach in Dan Finney we look to the future with some exciting young talent stepping up in leadership roles.
