Change today and change tomorrow

Change in inevitable, it’s a fact of life.
Change is something that can cause distress and change cannot often be stopped. But where possible change should be managed, controlled and for the good of the majority.

With a community like ours, change is ever present and in the main creates the dynamic that makes us what we are. So here is a summary of what has changed recently.
1. The all weather surface has been completed and open for use – fantastic!
2. 1st XV away strip - thanks to Training Synergy for sponsoring this strip. This will be on show tomorrow and you will see something of the past in the new design. Thanks also to Finance First, Oxygym and Billingham Windows for their ongoing sponsorship of the club and the 1st XV.
3. John Davies has taken over as Senior Membership Secretary with immediate effect. He will be working closely with the senior/colt team managers and coaches to ensure all details and membership fees are paid up. For those that haven’t paid yet (and there aren’t many), it’s not too late, it’s never too late, so pay up if you want to play up. If you want to make a payment give the money to John, not Alan nor Stewie nor Colin nor me. If he is not around, put it behind the bar in an envelope marked for John’s attention with subs on it – thank you.
4. Many of you have not sold your RFU Grand Draw tickets – no change there! Please sell them and get back to Neil.

There are some other areas that we are considering changing and some of these are significant. The main one is we are looking at the beer we provide. We need to ensure that we provide a good product, the right product and at the right price. We need to be more competitively priced but we also need a product that people want. I have put a Poll on the web site for you to take a look at. In talking with many of you over the last few weeks it’s clear that everyone has a different view so use the poll to put forward your view.

But the greatest change of all that we would like to affect, is the league in which we play in next week. We want to play in National League 3, we deserve to play in this league but we need to do the ‘business’ tomorrow and the other remaining 7 games if we want to get there. 100 points would be great but promotion is what we need. I am really looking forward to tomorrows match and just hope the weather does not get in the way.

One final change to note affects tomorrows match. Entry tomorrow is £4 but for U18s (not just U16s) which includes Colts, entry will be £2 only and U12s are free. Come on down and make a day of it. There is Roast Beef lunch, the Big Match, Eng v Scotland (with food at half time) and above all... the company of your friends.

See you all tomorrow. Keep on ruckin!
