Young prop with a bright future

Billingham are delighted to announce the signing of Kieran Clark ahead of the upcoming Northern Premier season. Kieran will join up with the club’s pre-season preparations starting on the 18th June.

Kieran joins the club from Middlesbrough. The young tight head prop was an integral part of Middlesbrough's team that battled hard in the Yorkshire league, and he is excited for his latest challenge:

The 20 year-old had a big impact and is seen to be a top prospect in the County having already achieved a full senior county cap.

Billingham Head Coach Peter Evans was delighted with the latest addition to his squad: “We’re pleased to have Kieran on board. Kieran is a strong scrummager and has a reputation of being destructive in the loose Kieran wants to challenge himself in a league a couple levels higher than he has been. Which is great we don’t tend to chase players, they need to want to be a part of the club to succeed.
Fortunately he has played county rugby for the past few seasons so the step up shouldnt be a problem. As with most clubs he’s knows he has a fight for the shirt on his hands. The good thing about Billingham is we provide an environment to express yourself. Whether that be in training or a game situation he will get a chance to show his capabilities at some point. We have a gruelling pre season set up and playing 3 teams in higher leagues so it promises to be a tough start for us all. ”

Here are some welcome facts about Kieran:

Age:20
Profession: Apprentice Accountant
Height: 6ft
Weight: 125kg
Previous clubs: Middlesbrough, Hartlepool Rovers
Honours: Durham county under 15s,16s,18s and 20s. And Durham County Seniors.

Welcome to the green and white
