I think it is best to start this week's preview with a congratulation's to Middlesbrough who it now looks like will win the social league this season, Last week was a bruising encounter which in reflection we could and probably should have won, but for the odd decision and a couple of silly mistakes we would have still been within a shout, as it is with them now 10 points clear and looking increasingly unlikely to lose it is time we look forward and build towards next season. That being said we will continue to get the games in and if the opportunity to close the gap we will keep them looking over their shoulders.
So where do we go from here? We start with Acklam away, no not the social league Hustlers but the candy league Talbots. Having already beaten Candy league Bishop II, Horden II and a close game against Rovers II with West deciding better of it, we continue in the same vein and test ourselves against the league above.
To be fair, looking at the league and the teams we have already played, there is nothing there we have to be worried about and given a decent availability no team we cannot beat on our day.
Again this week the numbers are looking good, with the 1st XV at home and the Lions in the cup, also at home, once again we will be putting out 3 strong senior teams. We will be welcoming back into the ranks some of our future talent in the up and coming colts as well as the mercurial Johnny Fraser returning to the cabbage patch after an enforced lay off.
It is games like this we need to be up for, a challenge which will help us to showcase just how good we can be and to set a marker out to other teams in the area who also feel they are able to match us in terms of numbers and talent.
So who is up for it, I know I am, how about you?
