A mix bag of results and performances.

It was a disappointing day in Cumbria as the first team never really turned up at Kirkby Lonsdale.
Credit to the Cumbrians they defended really well and played the conditions.
Even good teams have bad days and Saturday was one. There was a sickness bug, leg infection ,unavailability and an average age of 22 but the squad still had enough to come away with the points.
41-21 it finished up after glimpses of potential were often followed by mistakes.
One bright spot was a debut from the bench for 17 year old North of England star Alfie Lawson.

The lions took a young squad to league winners Morpeth. The original squad had real experience but due to first team call ups that was lost. The squad who went up went ahead early, fought to end and deserve credit eventually going down 43-17.

A wise man (well Chris Hyndman) used to say "the good thing about rugby is you get a chance to put things right the following week" both squads have that this coming Saturday. Whoever is selected and whatever the team it's time to put it right.

The other positives (obviously) the 3TM took a big step towards the title beating 2nd place Northallerton at home. Excellent work as they remain unbeaten.

The colts also travelled to cumbria with a contrasting result winning at Carlisle.

Despite a big list of problems we still put out 4 teams and won 2. Onto next week and finally a 1st team home game.
