Big home win for the 1sts, unfortunately the young lions squad lose away.

We have been driving towards that elusive 80 minute performance, we have played very well in certain games for periods and we have dug in and hung on to away wins but this wasn't far off that 80 minute performance at all.

On reflection this was 5th v 7th in the standings, fully expecting a tight game the build up was based around 2 teams wanting to 'chuck' it around and that's what we got.

I think we now have realised not to get frustrated as every team in this league is tough to breakdown and that was no different here. The most pleasing aspect was the when we did breakthrough we kept our foot on the gas and gave Kirkby Lonsdale no time to think or regroup. Some fantastic support lines and brilliant handling taking us over the line 64 - 3

We still had to be on our toes as the visitors had dangerous runners throughout particularly their 8 and 13 but the defense which has barely conceded in recent weeks held firm.

Some real good team tries and moments of individual brilliance kept the healthy crowd entertained. Scorers were:
Joe Evans
Dom Mcalorum
Danny Dixon x 2
Tom Briggs
Peter Evans x 2
Martin Hopley
Sean Richardson
Sean Wallace.

Dano Finney with 7 nudges.

It's a shame we have a week off as we are really starting to come together, rest assured the 2 weeks of training will be hard work and built towards a tough test away as Rossendale. we are now up to 4th in table with 6 game streak but we have some big big tests coming our way.

The lions were stung by initially call ups to the first team then by unavailability. They still took a good squad up to Tyndale but perhaps lacking some experience they went down 65-14. Probably one to forgot but experience can be drawn fro it for the young lads.
