Unfortunate loss for the 1st team but the 3TM continue winning

It had been built up as a big game and you can feel there was a lot at stake from both sets of players.

The reversal had seen Billingham take home the spoils from Hull in November, everyone was expecting a real tough game and that’s what it turned out to be.

A bumper crowd witnessed a good advert for level 5, as Billingham started very brightly only to have a disallowed try in the first 5 minutes. The next 20 minutes was all Hull as the scored 12 points. Just before half time Billingham pulled it back from a crossfield kick to Briggsy.

The 2nd half Billingham pilled the pressure on, to their credit much like the first meeting but the other way around Hull were strong in defense. Missed opportunities were to prove costly as Hull intercepted to run 80m in the last 10 minutes to stretch their lead and hold out for a 7-19 win.

Some lessons to learn, something which has been a real plus and our biggest improvement this year is control and Saturday perhaps lacked a bit of that. Kicking points and looking after the ball in red zones proving vital. Very proud of the team it shows how far we have come this season. Still a long way to go and a lot to play for.

The 3TM remain unbeaten and continue to fly the flag. Beating a strong Middlesbrough team. If teams keep playing them it could be a great year!

The colts travelled to Morpeth in hope of good win but unfortunately didn’t happen.

The vets are playing Stockton Friday night so keep your eyes peeled for info.
