We Go Again!

Saturday sees Billingham on the road again where they make the long journey to Wirral.

Following last week’s victory Billingham will be on a high however once again their feet will be firmly rooted to the ground knowing how touch Wirral are!

Wirral who are 5th in the table and will be full of confidence following last week 28-31 win over Sandal.

I have caught up with Pete Evans to look ahead to Saturday’s game
‘Back in the race.

We have given ourselves a chance again, it’s a long way to go with some big challenges ahead. None more so this week coming.

Wirral away is one of those fixtures that makes the squad raise their game, it is a very tough place to get a result. Wirral have a proud home record and will no doubt be looking to close the gap on us and the top places. Along with Ilkley (before last week’s loss) Wirral are one of the form sides in the league, Beating top 4 hopefuls in recent weeks. Our home result was a windy day but we came out on top after a great first half running in 33 points, that blistering start is needed again.

Just like the Rossendale game I am glad we have such a challenge to keep the squad excited and on their toes. To be in the reckoning come the end of the season this is a must win game to take momentum into February.

The most pleasing aspect about last week for me was the way we opened Rossendale up, played with endeavour and pace. Something that has been missing the past few games. To be successful this coming week we need to keep that tempo up and not take a backwards step.

We may have a few changes to make, to combat their style of play but still with a few injuries we are looking strong.
It’s one game at a time and this is a real tough one.’
