We Go Again!!

Billingham this week make the long travel to bottom club Wilmslow.

After a historical win and an enjoyable evening last week the focus has been on Wilmslow.

Although Wilmslow haven’t been winning they have been troubling a lot of their opponents. Billingham know firsthand how dangerous they can be after Wilmslow scored 21 points against Billingham at Greenwood Road.

Yes Billingham will be on a high however it has come at a cost. The physio tables have been busy this week with injuries however what this will allow is openings for others to grab a shirt.

Training has been completive and competition is fierce especially following the Lions own victory over Blaydon.

I have caught up with Head Coach Peter Evans to look at the weekends fixture ‘Consistency and focus has been the message this week.
Last week was memorable in many ways, we should be itching to get back out there. Despite the result we didn’t play anywhere near our potential. Probably credit should be given to Blaydon who pushed us all the way and will continue to do so over the next 7 games.
It’s one game at a time and a tough long away trip in store this week. Wilmslow will be proud and up for the test. If we look back at the first game they push us at times and have some very tidy players who we will need to keep our eyes on.
We have clawed ourselves back into a position where it is in our hands now. It would be criminal and naive to think any games will be handed to us in this league.
A few knocks after last week’s physical derby, potentially a chance for some of the standout 2nd team players from last week and a future star! Regardless it will be a strong squad focussed and ready to go!
We go Again!
