This week Billingham are on the road again this weekend over to Kirkby Lonsdale.
Kirkby have had mixed fortunes so far 2019 however we are under no illusion that Kirkby will roll over.
They are a force at home and will be keen to improve on their league position, currently sitting in 8th.
I caught up with head coach Peter Evans 'Cup final #2
After an initial surge by Kendal we lit up the middle 40 minutes last Saturday. Some great running rugby, probably most impressive and important dominant forward display.
Part of this young squad’s development this year has been up front. More than holding our own and dominant in some games. Now it is time to back it again and be consistent.
The message throughout this whole experience has been let’s just enjoy it, score some points and play no pressure rugby. Now that doesn’t mean there isn’t a focus and motivation to be the best team the clubs ever seen or be the best side from Teesside for a long long time.
This week is a tough tough game, look at last year’s results. We put Kirkby Lonsdale to the sword at home, underestimated them at their place (a notoriously tough ground), and got a good ole battering. This season that mind-set will be different. The big lads up front will need to be better than last week and the backs will need improve a lot to take home this win.
To keep this ‘dream’ and buzz around the club we need to keep delivering.'
