We Go Again

Saturday we welcome Vale of Lune to Greenwood Road.

Last Saturday was the rearranged game against Kirkby Lonsdale which was questioned as to whether it should have been played due to the conditions. However it is what it is. The positives we can take from a tough loss is that we were able to field a youthful team which included a full debut for Joe Ross and a debut from the bench for Sam Wilson, both just 17.

Looking ahead at Vale of Lune: They will be a wounded animal following consecutive 69-14 losses against Sandal and Harrogate respectively.

Vale of Lune are not to be underestimated. We know this following an earlier season defeat. Some what of our own doing. The focus will be very much on the game and getting the frame of mind right.

Vale of Lune sit in 13th position winning only 2 out of 8 in 2019. A win will only help in our push for second place. Blaydon hold the deck of cards at present but we, as always hold belief that if we keep pushing on we can challenge the teams above.

I have caught up with player coach Peter Evans to chat about the Vale of Lune game ' A weekend of opportunity, this week we have the opportunity to bounce back from a tough loss last week. With a few important bodies missing the lads battled extreme conditions and came away with a loss. A loss we can learn a lot from.

There is an opportunity for a few players out their hands up for selection and the future looking at next season.

Probably the most disappointing performance of the season was at Vale Of Lune where we lost. The opportunity is to put that right, some players will want to get it right some will want to do it for the ones that miss out.

It’s our 2nd last home of the season and we carry a proud home record we must continue. It’s been a memorable season and we are hell bent on not letting it slip away.

Some things are out of our hands now so all we can do it win and score points!

#OSIOS'

Good luck lads
