We Go Again!!

This weekend Billingham entertain 2nd placed Blaydon.

A game who many thought wouldnt be achievable given the clubs differences. However it is happening. Billingham beat Blaydon on home turf and Blaydon will be keen to make amends.

Blaydon sit in 2nd. A position Billingham are eager to regain.

Not only do we have the Lions and 3TM at home but it is also Ex-players Day. Players from yesteryear meeting old mates whilst enjoying a beverage or two.

It is one of rhe biggest games in Billinghams history and support is needed.

I have caught up with player coach Pete Evans 'An exciting weekend ahead.

As predicted, our January fixture list proved tough, injuries and some tough away games has led us to this point. In my view the biggest game of the season and a must win.

We have surrendered 2nd place to a flying Blaydon team but have the opportunity to grab it back with Harrogate closely behind us in 4th.

We often forget how young the squad is; only a handful have experience in promotion and relegation scraps. Well the pressure is on now, we can gloss over it and pretend it does not mean much but it does and we need to step up and deliver.

We play and train in an environment where we encourage an exciting style of play; this will be no different this week and will be matched with a team who play a very similar style, it bodes well for a sceptical. Add to that we have our ‘ex players’ sponsor day and our lions and 3TM playing at 1.30pm and 1pm respectively. It is going to be packed out for what we now class as our derby game.

It’s one of the best weekends in our recent history and a chance for the lads to push us back into 2nd, one thing for sure it will not be easy and if is anything like the away win (18-14) we are all in for a cracking afternoon regardless of the final result'.
