Small in size Big in Power!!

This evening I have caught up Nic Winstanley. Small in stature however don't judge a book by its cover. Quick, elusive and skilful all the traits you need to be a top scrum half!

How old were you when you started playing rugby?
I first started playing rugby age 6

What was your first rugby memory?
Training with Andy whitehouse as coach and him embarrassing us with one handed press-ups when we could barely do one two handed

Who was your role model and why?
Role model is Danny care I love the way he plays the game with quick thinking and cheeky little snipes every now and again

Can you remember your first training session with Billingham?
First training session with Billingham was turning probably with the u15’s trying my best not to get nailed by the big lads

What do you eat before a big match?
Usually a full English with a mug of tea and a red bull about half an hour before meet

Describe your perfect weekend.
Quiet night in Friday evening followed by big game Saturday get the W and then a few beers with the lads Sunday would just be a chill day plenty of food and movies

What’s been your career highlight?
Career highlight would have to be getting man of the match in the national cup semi final against Brentwood

What one tip would you give a young person looking to succeed?
Size doesn’t matter as long as you wear your heart on your sleeve and give everything you can then no one can ask anymore of you

What’s the next goal in your rugby career?
Just to keep enjoying my rugby it’s hard as I work away but it’s one thing that gets me through the week and l love every minute on the pitch
