Beast!

I have managed to catch up Adam Sunley. A very popular figure who has made the prop shirt his own. A young talent with lots of ability and thrives at scrum time when he holds his own against players who are 10 years his senior with a clear size difference. Adam fears no one and this is visible in his displays on a Saturday.

1. How old were you when you started playing rugby?
Started playing rugby at about 8 year old

2. What was your first rugby memory?
my first rugby memory would probably be scoring in my first game when I was in juniors

3. Who was your role model and why?
I never really had a role model when I was younger I didn't watch much rugby and I just played because I enjoyed the game but coming through the ranks at Billingham I think everyone had a great respect for Chris Hyndman and envy his insane work ethic

4. Can you remember your first training session with Billingham?
my first training session with Billingham was getting taught how to tackle as I joined in the first year of contact and having dale Thompson pull me aside and tell me I looked like a forward and made me a prop

5. What do you eat before a big match?
the night before a game I usually have whatever I can be bothered to cook, usually pasta or a curry and then game day I either don’t eat or have a Tesco meal deal depending on whether we are home or away

6. Describe your perfect weekend.
my perfect weekend would be a chilled out Friday night then a big game and a big win Saturday followed by a big session and a very hung-over Sunday

7. What’s been your career highlight?
a career highlight for me would probably be playing in the national colts cup quarter final on the firsts pitch

8. What one tip would you give a young person looking to succeed
one tip id give for young people would be to just take the pressure of and play to enjoy the game rather than focusing on opinions as long as you still love the game it doesn’t matter what team or what level you play at,

9.What’s the next goal in your rugby career?
my next rugby goal would be to push for north of England u20s this year and try and eventually get a shirt up in the club

Good luck for Saturday
