There is always another match to play…there is always another match to watch, but the question is where, why and and at what level. You! Yes you, our players, our members, our supporters, we ask you to make a choice.

This club, your club, our club has come a long way. From the nomad days with no home, through the wilderness days of discovery to the dizzy heights of National 3. Yes dizzy heights! We play at a level that truly amateur club don't normally play, we play at a level where competition is ferocious and we play a style of rugby that is fast, exciting and to be honest, better than some Premiership teams can only dream of. The level our senior rugby is played at is the level that we are measured by. From U6's to U16's and from 2nds to Colts, we are viewed by the league the 1st XV play in. Okay, yes I have said this before and whilst I may sound like a broken record, it is a record that needs to be replayed, but this time I need you to LISTEN! I need you to HEAR! Above all, I need you to ACT!

So the truth of the matter is this. We are in danger of being relegated. Relegated out of the National Leagues and into mediocrity. To put it simply I have 3 questions.

To the 18 men that will represent our club, our community and our identity, how much do you truly believe in yourselves?
To those of you who who are members, supporters and friends of our club - your club, how much do you care about our future?
To those of you who watch your son(s) play, where else would you want to be than with them tomorrow afternoon cheering on your club?

The players will be reading this now, knowing that the future of this club lies on their shoulders. We win, we should be safe but any other outcome and we are in the hands of others. They know their role and they know that tomorrow gives them an opportunity that many will never get. Win and they are a hero and they can forever recall the day that they saved our club from relegation. Lose, well who knows. They will be searching deep inside themselves tonight to find that person we need and tomorrow, well they need to ensure that nothing is left on that field except blood and sweat.

So to our supporters. I speak with many of you and I hear "Billingham Rugby Club is my passion!" "Billingham Rugby Club is MY club!" "Billingham Rugby Club is my families' club!" So tonight, when you are thinking of your weekend or tomorrow, when you are thinking of your day, think of this. We need 19 men tomorrow. Huddersfield are 3 games from winning the league and we have to beat the top team in the league. We need an extra man and the extra man is not just you, but you, your partner, your friends and your whole family. We need Billingham Rugby Club to rock tomorrow. We need a sea of green and white and voice that can be heard in Hartlepool! We have one chance. Do you really want to be that person when the question is asked, "where you there when we beat Huddersfield?" Do you want to be that person thinking 'maybe if I had turned up to support things may have been different.' Do you? Of course not – see you tomorrow.

And to the parents of our players, senior players, mini players, junior players and Colts. Shopping? Watching the Boro? Cleaning the car? Yer joking aren't ya! Days like tomorrow don't come around often. I can recall 3 promotions and 2 relegation in my tenure as Chairman and I missed one of them – a promotion and I hated it. I was fortunate to see the next promotion but will you be? Your child plays for a club in National 3. We play with the big boys and your son will one day be playing at that level or higher. Or maybe not? 19 men! 15 on the field, 3 on the bench and then you and us watching and cheering from the sidelines. 2 hours of your time to save our club? Is that a lot to ask?

'Our Spirit is Our Strength' but how strong is that? How strong can we be? That depends on our spirit, your spirit, BILLINGHAM RUGBY CLUB SPIRIT!!!!

So you have one choice! It's time to raise your voice! Time to show the world who we are because we are Billingham Rugby Club!. One Choice! One Voice!
