Blaydon who according to Wikipedia are the fourth biggest club in the North East were recently relegated from National 2 went into the game as favourites.

Grit, determination and heart led to Billingham defeating Blaydon 14-18.

Tries came from Martin Hopley, Elliot Husband and Matt Kirby with 3 points coming from the boot of player-coach Pete Evans.

Victory sees Billingham continue to sit in second place.

Unfortunately our Billingham Lions could not make it a double going down 33-5 with Billingham sole score coming from the lively Tom Crilly.
