Last week we announced the return of young back rower Lewis Roxby. A player who grew up in the green and white of Billingham being part of the very successful Colts team that reached the semi final of the National Cup.

Lewis left the green and whites whilst he sought further education in Leeds. Lewis continued his development playing for Ilkley, Morley and Leeds Beckett.

I caught up with Head Coach Peter Evans ' We know about Lewis, it’s great he has chosen his home club to return to. He has had options where he was guaranteed certain things from a few clubs but he’s chose the challenge. It’s a strong area of the senior group but we have a few niggles and I think he is looking fitter than ever after his uni stint. Lewis fits the bills he is clever player and has some great touches. He will fit straight back in. Great to have him back socially as well!'

Lewis added ' After growing up at the club and having created many great memories/relationships , as well as gaining 1XV caps before leaving to Leeds through university I feel Billingham's coaching staff can help develop and get the most out of my playing ability; as well as having great depth throughout the squads to give a constantly competitive environment which can help us push towards another successful season and keeping each week a challenge.'
