The first half sore West under pressure for long periods , but defending well and limiting the space for the Billingham attack, the pressure however told not on the score board but with West getting two of their back row sin binned going down to 13 for 8 minutes.

Half time sore the score 7-14 and Billingham started the second half with a high tempo, regaining ball well and keeping pressure on the West defence. After increasing the lead Billingham had to defend a extended amount of pressure in their own 22, unfortunately all the pressure resulted in the 2nd penalty try of the game for West and shortened Billingham's lead.

Billingham really started to pick the pace up in the middle period of the second half and built up a commanding lead which was enough to take the win despite a late West try.

We controlled the ball for long periods and probably were a little frustrated that we didn't put more points on the board, however both teams will be happy for a competitive fixture before a tough season.
