Ealing Trailfinders have named their side for the Championship Cup Final against London Irish at Trailfinders Sports Club.

The West Londoners are aiming to end the season with silverware for the second year in a row after the British and Irish Cup success of 2018, and lifting the trophy would further confirm another hugely positive year for the Green and Whites.

A number of players return after being rotated last weekend against Irish in the final league match, whilst the Trailfinders are also boosted as Jordy Reid has recovered from injury to start in the back-row. Harry Casson has had his red card dismissed, meaning he keeps his place in the second-row.

Jordan Burns and Craig Willis continue their half-back combination, with Pat Howard and David Johnston in the midfield. James Cordy Redden returns to the left wing, whilst Seb Stegmann keeps his place on the right wing and Will Harries starts at full-back.

Jack O’Connell, Matt Cornish and Ben Betts offer a front-row alternative on the bench, with Ben Landry covering the rest of the pack. Scrum-half Ryan Foley, fly-half Laurence May and centre Harry Sloan give the Trailfinders plenty of options when substitutions are called.

Director of Rugby Ben Ward says his squad are raring to go as they go in search of the inaugural Championship Cup trophy.

“It is a huge occasion and we’ve been looking forward to this since February when we progressed from the Semi Final. To reach our second consecutive Cup Final is a fantastic achievement and to sign off the season with a trophy would be a great reward for another brilliant year.”
