Saturday is OSIOS#1. We are 7 points from 2nd place and we play Hull in 3rd place. Do you believe and do you support our club?

We have had a Green Flag days, we have had Supporter Days, but Saturday is our first OSIOS day!

We claim that our spirit is our strength. Not all can make that claim but if there is one group of young men who can, it is our 1st XV this year. I am not saying that are unique in the club, but I am saying their commit every Saturday, often leaving at 9am and returning at 9pm allows them to make that claim. And for what? Well not for money but only for the love of rugby, for the love of our club and because their spirit as a collective is their strength.

They play Level 5 rugby, ensuring that every young player coming through our club can play a high standard of competitive rugby. Maintaining that level as an amateur team is difficult and requires commitment and dedication. The fact that we are 5th in the league and only 7 points off 2nd means this season has the potential to not only be our best ever, but potentially the unthinkable is possible. Our players believe they can beat anyone, the question is do you and are you willing to show that belief in your support.

Tomorrow there will be another group of young men who today play on a Sunday and are our future. But today and to the present, we play Hull RUFC on Saturday who believe they are a bigger club. To be fair they have played higher rugby than us, but we have something called OSIOS and we have a mind set that says we are not a small club from a small town but a proud club from a proud town and we need to shout out to the world ‘we are Billingham, we a proud and our Spirit is Our Strength’.

Please join the payers on Saturday and show them your support and show Hull who we are. Kick Off is at 2:30 and all U16s can come in free and all club coaches who bring some or all of their team will also get in free. To everyone else, wrap up warm, wear green and white and bring a friend and a fiver- the best value entertainment in the area.

This group of young men deserve your support, please show it as I know they will show you their spirit and their strength when Saturday come! OSIOS
