Billingham Rugby Club has capped a great season of success at all levels with selection as a venue for England Rugby's 24/Sevens tournament. The Durham County 7s on 4th June will be a Qualifier for the regional England Rugby 24/Sevens Play-Off event in Leeds in July. These ultimately feed a pinnacle 24/Sevens National Final.
Billingham has a long history of hosting the County 7s competition. The competition was re-launched in 2013 in memory of our President and ex-County President Ian Brown. Previous winners include Darlington Mowden Park in 2013, and Durham University in 2014 and 2015 who are going for a hat trick this year.
This will be a great day out, with rugby kicking off at 11am, live entertainment through the afternoon and evening, and a micro beer festival too. Spectators are FREE, while there is a small entry fee for teams and the chance of prize money.
