Expecting a tough battle against the improving Birkenhead who had run the top teams real close. The pitch was better than it looked but still heavy in places, this didn't stop the first try after 5 minutes as we ran the ball from try line to try line. This was the perfect start and it continued throughout the game with scores from;

The forwards battled well against the big pack and provided a good platform for the backs to run some fine tries in.

Teams don't go to Birkenhead Park and win 58-10 often, if at all. We should be proud of that as we continue to push on.

The lions played Stockton for the first time in a while, playing the local rivals has been missed. With the next round of the cup at stake along with local bragging rights the lions were up for it. After a great week training and a strong squad we ran out big winners 84-5. Thanks to Stockton for agreeing to play on the AGP, getting games on Is important this time of the year. The lions now have games week after week after a stop start month.

The weeks training was fantastic with great numbers, which no doubt aided these big wins. Let's keep it up!
